Delrin® acetal (Polyoxymethylene POM) is an ideal ingredient in parts designed to replace metal. It combines low-friction and high-wear resistance with the stiffness and strength such applications require. It provides a wide operating temperature range (-40°C to 120°C) and exceptional colorability. It also mates well with metal and other polymers, and it offers dimensional stability in precision molding.
Compared to acetal copolymer, Delrin® acetal homopolymer offers higher tensile strength, stiffness, and creep resistance. It allows for thinner, lighter-weight parts, shorter molding cycles, and potential cost savings thanks to its higher impact resistance.
